Dear Carlo,

 I thought you would want to know that yesterday I donated $250 in your
name to the Salvation Army to help those who were victimized by the terrorist
 attacks of September 11.  I chose the Salvation Army, rather than the Twin
 Towers Fund, because it has a well established infrastructure of
volunteers, is absolutely honest and trustworthy, takes none of the funds to meet
 administrative needs, and has already demonstrated its ability to not only
 help the families of those who died but also to assist the many poor
people whose lives and jobs were disrupted by these tragic events.

 Thank you so much for your generosity.  I know that the money will do many
a world of good.
